Inspired by the sunshine glistening on the water and hillsides of my home in South Devon, and the beauty of nature, My mixed media cartographic artworks are individually crafted using combinations of metallic, silver and copper leaves and real 24k gold accents. Acrylic, oil paints and inks are added to emphasise colour, movement and details, whilst sometimes I will use plaster, sand or found items to add texture or definition.
The metallic leaf, which makes the main body of the piece reflective and varies in different light, adds to the beauty and originality of each painting with a nod to the changing light in the landscape being portrayed.
