Description
Based on a map section of Barnstaple, North Devon. An original artwork in my series of cartographic mixed-media pieces. Mounted in white card and ready for you to frame at home, in your choice of frame!
This piece uses real copper metallic leaf, and raised texture for the body of the landscape. The main towns of Barnstaple, Bideford, Westward Hoe! and Appledore are emphasised with gold metallic leaf, and the sandy beaches are glittering in the light. The main river of the area, the River Taw, dissects the landscape, flowing down to the sea.
Due to the reflective nature of the materials I have used, this piece changes in different light conditions – adding to the beauty and originality of painting. You can also see a short video clip of this piece here.
***PLEASE BE AWARE*** Due to the nature of the materials used, the best effort has been made to photograph these unique pieces of art in the most accurate way possible, but I cannot allow for differences in colouration between monitors and devices… I have tried to captured this with photographs from different angles, and a short video clip where possible.
